What is the Docnote Fee?
The Docnote fee is a small charge added to every paid request. Learn what it covers and how it differs from your provider's service fee.
When you make a payment through Docnote, you may notice a small additional charge on your receipt — this is the Docnote fee. Here's what it is and why it's there.
What the Docnote fee covers:
The Docnote fee is set by Docnote and is added to every request that has a cost attached to it. It covers the cost of maintaining the security and infrastructure of your Docnote account, including:
- Encrypted data storage — keeping your personal and health information secure
- Secure login protection — verifying your identity every time you access your account
How it differs from your provider's fee:
The Docnote fee is entirely separate from the uninsured service fee charged by your primary care provider. You may see both on your receipt when payment is made:
- Uninsured service fee — set by your primary care provider for the service requested
- Docnote fee — set by Docnote to cover account security and infrastructure
