How to Temporarily Close Your Office in Docnote

Going on vacation or closing your office temporarily? Learn how to set a temporary closure message for patients in just a few steps.

If your office is closing temporarily — for vacation, holidays, or any other reason — you can notify patients directly through Docnote. When your office is marked as temporarily closed, patients will see your custom message when attempting to submit a request.

Steps to temporarily close your office:

  1. Log in to your Docnote account and select Office Info from the left-hand menu.
  2. Scroll down on the Office Profile page to the Office Hours section.
  3. Select the orange "Temporarily Close Office" button.
  4. Enter the reason or message you would like patients to see when they attempt to submit a request while your office is closed.
  5. Select Preview to see exactly what your patients will see before confirming.
  6. Once you are satisfied with your message, select Confirm to apply the closure.

💡 Tip: Use the Preview button to make sure your message is clear and informative — letting patients know when you expect to reopen can help reduce follow-up inquiries.
