How to Add Services in Docnote
Learn how to create and configure services in Docnote, including pricing, HST, visibility settings, and featured services for your patient dashboard.
Adding services to your Docnote account allows your office to manage what patients can request and what appears on their dashboard. Here's how to set up a new service.
Steps to add a service:
- Select Services from the left-hand menu.
- Select the orange "Create Service" button.
- Fill in the following details:
- Service Name — enter the name of the service
- Price — enter the amount to bill the patient
- HST Applicable — select this only if your office is HST registered
- Description — a brief description of the service (optional)
- Attach a Document — add a document to be automatically included after payment is made (optional)
- Configure the visibility settings:
- Enable Service — toggle this on to make the service visible when creating a request
- Include in Uninsured Service List — select this to make the service viewable in the patient's Docnote account
- Feature Service on Patient Dashboard — select this to display the service prominently at the top of the patient's dashboard
- Select Save to apply your changes.
💡 HST tip: The HST applicable option should only be selected if your office is HST registered. If you are unsure whether your office needs to charge HST, speak with your accountant or refer to the CRA guidelines.
